It’s a Winner! The 2nd Annual Sunscape Dealer Conference Scores Big

Even though the inaugural 2013 version was a tough act to follow, this year’s annual Sunscape Dealer Conference lived up to the challenge, and then some. Madico Window Films welcomed 55 conference guests from 30 companies to the TradeWinds Island Beach Resort in St. Pete Beach, Florida last week.

Beginning with arrival and check-in at the TradeWinds late on Monday, February 10th, and continuing that evening with dinner, drinks and live music, the conference took on an atmosphere of camaraderie right away. Sunscape dealers from all over North America formed new bonds or rekindled old ones, talked a little shop (of course!), and enjoyed some food, beverage, and laughter.

Tuesday morning, the Madico team kicked off a series of talks on a wide spectrum of topics, all geared to fully engage their dealer guests in the Sunscape program by offering a comprehensive look at the program’s entire scope.  Several of the presentations dealt with the technical and production side of Sunscape films, and a tour of the Madico plant in St. Petersburg gave Sunscape dealers the chance to learn how the films they install are designed, engineered and produced.

The value of meeting with other dealers and seeing what has been successful for them, learning the more technical aspects of window film, and strengthening the Sunscape community cannot be overstated.  I left re-energized and ready to sell some film in the coming year.  I especially enjoyed the tour of the factory and seeing just how our product is created. – Matt Swanson, Columbine Window Tint, Littleton, Colorado

Acquiring sales leads was on the mind of every dealer present at the conference, and the challenge that everyone faces in doing this was not ignored on Tuesday. Jack Audino of Sunblockers, Inc., a long-time Madico client and Sunscape dealer, presented a talk on doing business with school districts seeking to augment security in light of the rise in gun violence in schools. The Madico regional sales rep team and others spoke as well about ways to increase Sunscape film sales.

The day wound down in style at the St. Pete Yacht Club with a lavish dinner, music and dancing, and a great deal more networking and bonding among Sunscape dealers and Madico staff alike.

The conference’s final presentations Wednesday morning began with the introduction of the new DecoLite window film product to be offered under the Sunscape banner. Later, Madico’s marketing partner, Marketing In Color, demonstrated a variety of strategies to help dealers build their businesses. These methods ranged from the use of the Dealer Support Center and the U.S. Small Business Administration website, to using advertising templates, social media marketing and public relations to create opportunity.

2014’s Sunscape Dealer Conference was a resounding success for many stakeholders for many reasons, but a single reason stands out. By gathering to share ideas, experiences, instruction, and a fun time, Sunscape window film dealers and Madico team members took another huge leap forward together in strengthening the Sunscape window film brand. A strong, competitve Sunscape will most certainly translate to the prosperity of individual window film businesses and in turn, to an accomplished mission for Madico.
