The 2017 Sunscape Dealer Conference is in the books but we’re still in a “golden state of mind” as we reflect on the successful event! This year the Madico staff traveled to San Diego, California, to welcome more than 60 dealers from across North America.
Guests were greeted at an evening reception on Wednesday, January 25, which provided the opportunity for mingling and networking amongst the group. The real work began the next morning at the Hilton Hotel in San Diego’s Gas Lamp District. Jeffrey Plummer, Madico’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, kicked off the meeting with a warm welcome and introductions of both Madico staff and attending dealers.
The event picked up from there with an outstanding presentation by Rick Wallace of Next Level Coaching. Rick provided engaging information on business development, time management, ways to improve profitability for small businesses, and tips on running an efficient company. Additional content included discussions and presentations facilitated by two successful Sunscape dealers as well as presentations by Madico staff on topics ranging from a Sunscape program review and strategic vision by Mike Byrd to updates on warranty program developments and marketing resources. A real highlight of the event was a presentation by David Bryant of VDI on the recently acquired metalizing company that will add innovation to Madico’s product portfolio.
New to the conference, the “Madico Innovations Trade Show” took place on Thursday afternoon and was a hit amongst attendees. The trade show provided the opportunity for dealers to view and learn about many new Madico products and services such as ClearPlex®, printable and specialty films, Invisi-Film®, the MACS plotter, SafetyShield, Sunscape’s new GullWing attachment system, as well as film meter technical demonstrations.
The day wound down at the Sunscape Awards dinner where eight Sunscape dealers were presented with awards for “Outstanding Performance in 2016.” Everyone enjoyed a fun and relaxing dinner as they continued to network and reflect on the information acquired earlier in the day.
The conference concluded Friday with an informative dealer panel discussion made up of five companies, a review of Madico’s “Solar Quiz” by Jim Black, Sales Director, Americas; lunch, and a raffle drawing for a variety of prizes.
Many attending dealers expressed that this was the best Sunscape conference Madico has hosted and they are looking forward to another successful year as part of the Sunscape program!
